Braamfontein will once again cement its place as a cultural and fashion hotspot as Braam Fashion Week (BFW) unveils its anticipated Showroom Experience at 99 Juta Street on June 14.

Starting from 10:00 to 18:00, this immersive event is far from a traditional runway affair. Instead, it brings fashion to life in a living gallery. In this space, fashion lovers, creatives, and the curious can engage with the pieces up close, meet the designers, and immerse themselves in Braam’s vibrant creative energy.

“In Braam, there’s a deep expression for fashion and creativity. That’s why we created Braam Fashion Week to bring every creative under one roof,” says the organisers.

The event will showcase standout collections from the BFW AW//SZN25 lineup, including: El Patron Streetwear, ORP Dziner, Carmen Parys, TownshipTandoori, KARMIC, Expansion, AEC Wang, Galaxy 97, Ever Been To The Moon as well as brands like Black, Ivy, and Cupid.

With everything from streetwear and luxury pieces to accessories like handmade jewellery, sunglasses, and designer handbags, the showroom aims to blur the line between art, culture, and fashion retail.

Fashion meets experience

Attendees can expect more than just fashion. The venue will feature live spray-painting, tattoo artistry, hair colouring stations, custom jewellery stalls, gaming zones and a stylised photobooth to capture your drip.

The showroom invites guests to engage with fashion in an unfiltered, hands-on way, encouraging them to touch the fabrics, see the craftsmanship up close, and connect directly with the creative minds behind the designs.

Empowering the community through fashion

More than a showcase, Braam Fashion Week is also a platform for community upliftment. This year’s event includes a social outreach initiative where clothing and blankets will be donated to people living on the streets of Johannesburg.

“We’re not just building a brand—we’re building a movement. We want to empower new voices in fashion and make a real difference in the city,” adds the organisers.

Plans are also underway to partner with fashion schools to discover and mentor emerging talent, ensuring Braam Fashion Week continues to grow as a launchpad for young creatives.

With sights set on becoming a global fashion destination, the BFW team is already planning a summer edition and working toward evolving the brand into a household name that rivals fashion weeks in Milan, Paris, and New York.

“Our goal is for Braam Fashion Week to become a fashion tourism destination. We want the world to come to Braam to see what African fashion has to offer.”
