When N’veigh named his latest album Conversations Are Better in a Benz (CABIAB), he wasn’t just flexing his love for luxury cars. He was signalling a new chapter in his life—one of growth, premium status, and the respect he commands.

“I grew up loving a merc, always looked at it with respect. Also witnessed human behaviour when conversing in it, it commands respect. I’m at that level now,” he explains. The title symbolises his personal and artistic growth, reflecting a sense of achievement and prestige.

N’veigh’s approach to the themes explored in the album was organic. “There’s not much science to it. It was merely me showing you my growth since I dropped ‘Peanut Butter’ and the influences I had during this said period.”

The album features collaborations with a diverse array of artists, including Jay Claude, Just Bheki, Sneenah, and Jimmy Wiz. He described the collaboration process as effortless. “Easy really, all those I contacted loved the records. They were also in sync with what I was creating. One could say it was God showing off. Lol, plus I create music from a place of vibes, also reading the music to see who best fits where. It’s never about big/small name features, rather… Who fits the song.”

“The music spoke the loudest. I could hear all of them fit as they did on each record. They are as passionate as I am. Plus, I feel they are top talents that need to be heard,” he adds.

Storytelling plays a pivotal role in Conversations Are Better in a Benz. N’veigh aims to connect with listeners on a personal level. “I try to be as direct as I can. However, people do get affected differently with each record. Some relate to the stories because they share similar personal experiences. Some don’t. But I know each will be affected one way or the other. The main drive here is to speak to people who have gone through the worst and still fighting.”

“I make music and let the fans tell how it makes them feel. I don’t want to affect their reaction by telling them what to expect. I want genuine reactions,” states N’veigh.

The production process for the album was relatively smooth, though not without its challenges. “Apart from struggling to clear two samples for songs that were intended to be on the project, not much was a challenge. The response/respect that I got from the producers and featured artists made this a pleasant project to deal with.”

He described the musical style and sound of the project as expensive and classy. This sophisticated soundscape aligns with the themes of growth and premium status that permeate the album.

What does N’veigh hope listeners take away from this album? “Nothing much but understanding who N’veigh has grown into. I’m here to tell my story. I just want you to enjoy this version of me. That’s all.”

“Telling stories about what you’re currently facing in life is the best way to approach music. It’s factual and lets the audience know you for you. I think people who listen to #CABIAB can attest to the growth I’ve endured since the last project,” says N’veigh.
