Hip-hop lovers and aspiring artists, mark your calendars for February 15, 2025! The Hip Hop Shandis event, set to take place next month, is offering an exciting platform for emerging talent with its inaugural cypher competition.
Organised by artist and PR consultant Mpho Ncholo popularly known as TADED, the event is all about giving rising stars the opportunity to showcase their skills and gain valuable industry exposure.
In partnership with record label Technician and Young Press the cypher competition will not only serve as an electrifying showcase of up-and-coming talent but also as a stepping stone for these artists to elevate their careers.
The competition is open to all aspiring hip hop artists, with free entry, and promises a prize package designed to set winners on the path to success.
What’s at stake?
The winners of the competition will receive a comprehensive PR package, courtesy of Taded himself, which includes:
Two radio interview tours, a podcast interview, free recording demo as well as artist registration assistance.
But that’s not all. The runner-up will also take home a solid prize package:
A radio interview, free demo recording and artist registration assistance.
The event is designed not only to uplift emerging artists but also to engage with the youth, especially those at risk, and encourage them to channel their energy into something positive.
The mission is to provide an opportunity for young individuals to steer clear of negative influences and turn their focus toward creativity, community, and growth.
With the support of Technician, who will be providing sound for the event, Hip Hop Shandis promises to be a high-energy, dynamic experience for all in attendance.
Taded, who has worked with top-tier artists like Bassie, Fifi Cooper, and MFR Souls, is excited to bring this initiative to life and make a real difference for those in the hip hop community.
Whether you’re an artist eager to compete or a fan excited to support the scene, Hip Hop Shandis is the place to be on February 15. The event offers free entry, so bring your friends and family, and be part of something special.
They are hosting from 13:00 until 18:00 at 1389 Mbulu Street in Tsakane (near Vuyani Primary School).
